FIVE STEPS,
ONE LOCK
Remove your old laces
Pull your existing laces all the way out of the shoe. Take both shoes apart before you start — it's faster than doing one, then the other.
Thread from the bottom up
Feed the KNOTZ lace through each eyelet exactly the way a normal lace goes in — starting at the bottom pair and working up to the top. Keep the two ends roughly even as you go.

Press the clip on the locking buckle to open it, then pass both loose ends through the channel. Release the clip once they're through.
Pull to tension, press to lock
Slide the buckle down toward the shoe and pull the ends until the fit feels right. Press the clip down and the tension is locked — it stays exactly there.

Tuck any remaining cord under the tongue or along the side of the shoe so nothing flaps around. That's it — you're done. Slip them on and off from here on out.
03 — Getting the Fit Right
DIAL IT IN
Set tension standing up
Your foot spreads under load. Lock the tension while you're standing with weight on the shoe, not sitting down — otherwise they'll feel tight the moment you start moving.
Match both shoes
Set one shoe, then copy the buckle position on the other so both feet sit at the same tension. Uneven laces are the most common reason a new pair feels off.
Adjustable any time
Want them looser for a walk and tighter for a run? Press the clip, slide the buckle, release. The lock is reusable — there's nothing to cut or re-thread.
Too much cord left over?
Tucking the excess under the tongue handles most shoes. If yours still have a lot of slack, message us before trimming and we'll tell you where to cut.
